Get the Flock Out of OKC

Tell OKC Council to Protect our Privacy & Turn Off Flock!

OKC’s contract with Flock means cameras are in our communities tracking, logging and sharing our movements without a warrant. But the contract expires this month, and we have the power to tell our city council to not renew.

Sign our petition, and we’ll deliver it to the OKC Council ahead of their July vote.

Take Action: Tell OKC to End the Contract with Flock

Flock sells AI-powered surveillance cameras to police departments and lawmakers as automatic license plate readers, but they do so much more than scan license plates.

Data captured by Flock cameras reveal very private details about a person’s life – including what meetings they attend, what doctors’ offices and religious institutions they visit, who they associate with, and even where they sleep at night – and can be shared with law enforcement across the country, including ICE and out-of-state police.

OKC’s contract with Flock means cameras are in our communities tracking, logging and sharing our movements without a warrant. But the contract expires this month, and we have the power to tell our city council to not renew.

  1. Sign our petition, and we’ll deliver it to the OKC Council ahead of their July vote.
  2. Call and email your city council member, and urge them to vote no on renewing Flock.
  3. Spread the word on social media and get your friends, family and community members to sign the petition. Here is some sample language and some graphics you can use for your post:

Flock’s AI-powered surveillance cameras are in our highways, streets & outside our homes and businesses. Our movements are being tracked, logged & shared w/o a warrant or our consent. Join me and tell the OKC council to protect our privacy! https://secure.ngpvan.com/xaZ6FccesUuUPw2qL9rPEQ2 #FlockOutOfOKC

Flock’s surveillance cameras track & share data about our movements: who we visit and drive with, doctors we see, house of worship we attend, even political meetings and protests we go to. OKC must stop working with Flock: https://secure.ngpvan.com/xaZ6FccesUuUPw2qL9rPEQ2 #FlockOutOfOKC

4. Post and tag the OKC City Council with your concerns (find your ward here).

I live in ward [x] and am terrified of the unwarranted spying of Oklahomans by Flock cameras. Our movements should not be tracked and accessible to federal and out-of-state agencies. I urge the @cityofokc to NOT RENEW its contract w/ Flock. #FlockOutOfOKC

I live in ward [x] and am deeply concerned by AI-powered surveillance cameras tracking, logging and sharing our info without a warrant. I urge the @cityofokc to protect our privacy and to NOT RENEW its contract w/ Flock when it comes up for a vote. #FlockOutOfOKC

Get the FLOCK Out: Town Hall

With Flock Safety's automatic license plate reader (ALPR) technology, law enforcement agencies across the country can track Oklahomas drivers in real-time — without a warrant, probable cause, or even reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing. Flock's nationwide data sharing model puts our civil rights and civil liberties at risk. Join the ACLU of Oklahoma and partners for a presentation from ACLU National and a panel conversation as we discuss Flock's nationwide data sharing model and how local police departments that contract with Flock can choose to share the ALPR data. Food will be provided. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is highly encouraged.
