Passionate about a more loving and inclusive Oklahoma, Allie Shinn has dedicated her career to working for a better future for our state. She currently serves as the Deputy Director for the ACLU of Oklahoma, where she has worked for the since 2010 to defend and preserve the civil liberties of folks across Oklahoma.
In addition to her work with the ACLU of OK, Shinn serves on the board of Sally’s List, a nonprofit dedicated to electing women in Oklahoma. Among her many social justice activities, Shinn dedicates time to advancing LGBTQIA+ equality in Oklahoma City and beyond, working on meaningful criminal justice reform through the Yes on State Question 780 Campaign and the Campaign for Smart Justice, and championing women's rights.
In addition to her advocacy, Shinn spends much of her time supporting public art through projects like Factory Obscura, is a patron of many locally owned businesses, and can often be found in her garden with her dog, Myles. Those who know Shinn know that she shows up in all spaces with a fierce spirit of love. Her tireless work in and outside of her job make this state safer and more welcoming for everyone.
Shinn holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science in International Studies from Oklahoma State University.
