Stop Mass Warrantless Surveillance: Reform Section 702

According to multiple reports, top Congressional leaders are considering a secret backroom deal that would bypass the American people and reauthorize Section 702 – an invasive and unconstitutional law that the government has repeatedly used to justify its mass warrantless surveillance of Americans, including protesters, members of Congress, and journalists. Making matters worse, the bill being considered has none of the fundamental civil liberties reforms – like requiring a warrant – that members on both sides of the aisle have vocally supported.

We will not be kept in the dark. We can still fight this dangerous expansion of government surveillance, but we must act quickly before this vote takes place. Let’s flood our representatives' emails NOW to make sure they know we’re watching: Tell Congress to rein in warrantless surveillance and vote no on any bill that reauthorizes Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act without fundamental reforms.

Protect Our Right to Privacy: Reform Section 702 of FISA

Section 702 was originally enacted in secret session – one of only four times in U.S. history – and now Congress is trying to once again perpetuate its abuses in the shadows. As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about the government’s use of Section 702 to justify spying on Americans’ online communications without a warrant. I urge you to let this law expire unless it is fundamentally reformed.

Please protect our right to privacy on the internet: Do not vote to reauthorize Section 702 without requiring the government to obtain a warrant before searching the communications of Americans.

Sincerely,
